We take great pride in our association with the Verulamians Rugby Football Club, an institution that has been deeply rooted in the heart of our community since its establishment in 1948. With a legacy spanning 75 years, this rugby club has not only endured but thrived, becoming a vital part of the local sporting landscape.
Over the last decade, Verulamians RFC has experienced significant growth, currently boasting a membership of over 270 children ranging in age from 6 to 16. Alongside this vibrant youth program, the club also supports three senior teams, an achievement underscored by their two promotions in the past five years and their triumphant wins of the Herts Cup twice during the same period. Our journey with Verulamians RFC began in September 2022 when we decided to get involved with the Under 15 team. Since then, we’ve closely followed their progress, admiring their resilience and dedication in the face of challenging weather conditions that often characterize rugby matches. The team has demonstrated not only their prowess on the field but also their unwavering camaraderie and sportsmanship, uniting as a true team in both victory and defeat. Much credit goes to the dedicated volunteer coaches who consistently stand by their side during training sessions and matches, instilling values of fitness and exemplary behaviour that extend beyond the boundaries of the rugby pitch.
We’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone achieved by the Under 15 team on the 23rd of April 2023. They emerged victorious in the Herts County Youth Plate Under 15’s, a hard-fought battle that culminated in a well-deserved win. This achievement is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the support they receive from their coaches and the entire club.
In the current season, we had the honour of sponsoring the all-important pitchside coats, providing much-needed protection from the elements. As the season progresses, we extend our heartfelt wishes to the entire team for continued success. We have no doubt that they will continue to make the club, the community, and their sponsors immensely proud.
